In Planteringen just south of Helsingborg, between the noisy industrial port and the quiet pine forest, this apartment building creates an oasis with the best of both worlds. The project is focused on social and ecological sustainability. It is made with the greatest possible care for nature and focuses on creating spaces where spontaneous meetings can take place, both for residents and visitors.
The body of the house is partly adapted to the previously paved area, and partly designed to become a natural part of the pine forest trail exercise loop. The curved shape invites both residents and visitors, and once up, the view extends out over the industrial port and the sea. With a strong boundary between private and public, the generous green space is the main meeting place for visitors. There, you can engage in a variety of activities, such as volleyball, sledding or playing basketball in the sunken basketball hall. The Boomerang overlooks and celebrates the industrial port of Planteringen while creating an oasis beyond it. Is the ferry from Helsingør approaching? Or is it just the pine trees rustling in the wind?
