KVARTERET
Leisure Center
This structure rises in Sofielund, standing out from the surrounding brick buildings while remaining modest through its use of soft, wooden materials. The gentle expression of the building is further emphasized by its curved shapes. Inside, youths aged 15–25 are welcomed to gather, play ping pong, do homework, or enjoy an after-school treat in the café.
On the second floor, small activity rooms equipped with instruments can be booked for private use. A medium-sized activity room serves as a space for group workshops such as scrapbooking, knitting classes, or pottery. The largest room accommodates events and performances, complete with a stage. The building features two terraces, one connected to the café and another on the second floor, providing outdoor spaces for relaxation and gathering. Interior windows are strategically placed to allow staff to oversee the entire facility, while also helping the youths stay connected to the activities happening throughout the building.
